Putting further rain clouds on solar owners' plans, in 2021, the Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) allowed electricity companies to start charging rooftop solar owners for exporting power to the grid!
Wait… Why are solar owners being penalised for using & supplying renewable energy?
The “reasoning” imposed reducing grid congestion and paying for upgrades. Essentially the excessive generation of energy is too much for the grid to handle and lack of storage started to become an issue.
Lack of storage? Hmm, isn't there a solution for that…
